About Me

"I am excited to continue improving my ability to impart understanding
to
students and inspire them to learn!"

After 15+ years of managing communications in English and Spanish for cultural and educational organizations, at the start of the COVID pandemic in 2020 I turned one of my passions and side gigs teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) remotely to children ages 4-16 around the globe into my main job while isolating. During that time, I had the unique opportunity to teach children one-on-one which has made it easier to practice identifying different learning styles and experimenting with teaching methods and techniques to tailor to my students. That experience fertilized my love for education–especially alternative and hybrid methods–and I am excited to connect with current and new students, their parents, and others through a shared interest in language learning.

MY TEACHING CREDENTIALS

During my upbringing at the Spanish-speaking USA territory island of Borikén (renamed by European conquerors Puerto Rico), I had the great opportunity to practice two mother tongues. Being fully native and professionally bilingual/biliterate in English and Spanish already, in college I added to my Communications Studies BA an additional major in Modern Languages and took language proficiency tests in both tongues to advance to master-level courses. Later, I added to my degree post-baccalaureate professional certifications in Foundational and Advanced ESL teaching

We all learn at different paces and in different ways. My job is to give you and/or your child the tools to learn and enjoy the process. Are you ready? Lets go!
